Michael’s 3rd Birthday (Part 2)

Chris made Michael his favorite breakfast, eggs. Michael only ate 1 bite of the eggs and then wanted fruit loops because that’s what Sissy was eating. Chris was a little disappointed :-(

Michael was VERY excited about the cupcakes we made. He’s been talking about taking cupcakes to daycare to share with his class for several days now. We had to take the lid off of the cake carrier this morning so he could see them. I tried to take a couple pictures of him with the cupcakes, but he’s wasn’t being a very cooperative subject so I don’t have high hopes that I captured a good one. I intended to leave my point and shoot camera with daycare to take a couple pictures of the kids eating the cupcakes, but the batteries were dead! I could just kick myself because I thought about charging the batteries this morning, and didn’t, and I didn’t have any spare batteries in the camera bag.

As of this morning, Michael wants mac cheese and rice for dinner.

When we picked Michael up from daycare, he had a smudge of frosting right between his eyes so they must have been good! He said the kids liked his cupcakes. As always, he wanted to say hi to Ms. Kristal on our way out. She told Michael happy birthday and all the EPS kids chimed in too.

When we got home Uncle Jason, Grandma Debbie and Poppa called to tell Michael happy birthday. Jason told Michael, “Happy Birthday!” and Michael told him happy birthday back :-) He sang along to himself as Grandma Debbie sang “Happy Birthday” to him. From Debbie to Chris the next day, "Michael was so cute last night. After I talked to him and sang HB, he talked to Dad. But before Dad could sing to him, he said Michael sang HB to to him. What a kid!"

He ate all of his mac cheese and rice dinner. After dinner we opened presents. He got a Home Depot leaf blower and tool box, a power drill, a Melissa & Doug wooden tool box with tools, screws and nuts, Melman and Gloria beanie babies(from the movie Madagascar) and a Fisher Price helicopter. He also got birthday cards and money from both Great-Grandma Frieda and Grandma Pat. His favorites seemed to be the power drill and the helicopter. While Michael played with his new toys, Daddy went to our new favorite ice cream store, Maggie Moo’s, and got Michael blue cotton candy ice cream. The rest of us got ice cream too :-)

Michael was way wound up and didn’t want to go to bed. He was being silly and throwing himself into his glider rocker and bouncing himself out like a wrestler using the ropes. I didn’t think there was any way he would go to sleep, but surprisingly, I haven’t heard a peep out of him since we tucked him in.

All in all, a highly successful birthday!
